TACTICAL UNDER DOOR CAMERA

The Tactical Under Door Camera is a compact, field-deployable Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) system designed for covert visual access into enclosed spaces behind closed doors, barricades, and other obstructed entry points. The system is intended for police under door camera, law enforcement under door camera, military under door camera, and security inspection tasks where rapid situational awareness is required prior to entry.

The device is based on a thin under-door insertion panel approximately 0.26 in (6.6 mm) thick, allowing deployment under standard door gaps or in similarly restricted clearances. Depending on configuration, the system may incorporate one, two, or four camera modules, providing forward, upward, and lateral observation capability. Illumination is provided by covert 950 nm infrared LEDs, enabling inspection in low-light and no-light environments without visible light emission. Video may be transmitted wirelessly through an encrypted 5 GHz link or through a hardwired connection in RF-restricted environments. Source materials also describe direct-view, monitor-based, and Android/mobile-device-based operating configurations.

SYSTEM DESIGN AND MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS

The Tactical Under Door Camera is engineered as a low-profile inspection system optimized for covert insertion, controlled handling, and deployment in confined operational environments. The insertion panel thickness of approximately 0.260 in / 6.6 mm supports access beneath doors with limited floor clearance. Depending on model and configuration, the camera body remains compact enough for rapid stowage and field carriage, while optional handheld grip, pole-mounted, or direct-cable deployment concepts permit operation from a tactically offset position.

The housing materials include reinforced polymer and aluminum structural elements intended to withstand operational handling and repeated insertion cycles. Reported operating temperature capability extends to approximately -20 °C to +50 °C depending on system configuration. Certain variants are battery-powered by CR123 cells, while other configurations are powered through an attached monitor, external device, USB/Ethernet interface, or auxiliary 12 VDC input.

TACTICAL UNDER DOOR CAMERA IMAGING CAPABILITY

The Under Door Camera employs low-light-sensitive color CMOS image sensors integrated into the insertion panel. Depending on configuration, the system may provide:

  • Multi-camera forward, upward/backward, left, and right views
This arrangement allows the operator to inspect room interiors, observe the back side of the door, and identify obstacles, barricades, or other hazards in the immediate entry zone. The imaging system is supplemented by covert 950 nm infrared illumination with adjustable output levels, typically including stepwise control from 0% to full output, for use in low-light and no-light conditions.

The Tactical Under Door Camera System supports multiple display and transmission architectures depending on configuration. Supported options include 5 GHz real-time wireless video transmission with 128-bit AES encryption and WPA2-PSK authentication, as well as hardwired video/data interfaces for RF-restricted or infrastructure-based use. In various configurations, video may be viewed on a dedicated monitor, direct-view eyepiece, or Android mobile device. USB and Ethernet interfaces are also described for system integration and data transfer.

AUDIO ACQUISITION

The Tactical Under Door Camera may be equipped with an integrated microphone located near the camera assembly to support synchronized audio monitoring during inspection. This capability allows the operator to capture environmental sounds from the inspected space while conducting visual reconnaissance. Audio and video signals are transmitted simultaneously and may be recorded together with the video stream, providing additional situational information during police, law enforcement, security, and military under-door inspection operations.
