TACTICAL IR VIDEOSCOPE

The Tactical IR Black & White Inspection Videoscope is a compact, field-deployable Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) system designed for police, security, law-enforcement, and military inspection tasks in complete darkness or low-visibility environments. The system integrates an eye-safe infrared illumination source, IR-sensitive CMOS imaging, articulated flexible probe, integrated display unit, and an optional microphone located at the probe distal end for synchronized audio capture.

SYSTEM DESIGN AND MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Extremely compact dimensions, controlled mass distribution, and a ruggedized enclosure allow the Tactical IR Videoscope to be operated reliably in confined spaces and harsh operational conditions. The probe assembly incorporates a tungsten-reinforced housing for mechanical durability and resistance to oils, saline solutions, dust, and moisture. The documentation (display) unit is sealed to IP65, while the probe and distal end meet IP67 ingress protection requirements.

The system is battery-powered using a rechargeable Li-ion battery and supports field operation without external power sources. A secondary 12 V external power option is available for extended deployments.

TACTICAL IR IMAGING CAPABILITY

The Tactical IR Videoscope employs an IR-sensitive CMOS image sensor operating in black-and-white mode, optimized for infrared illumination invisible to the naked eye. Illumination is provided by a high-power, eye-safe IR LED integrated at the distal end, with three selectable intensity levels. This configuration enables visual inspection in pitch-dark environments without visible light emission.

Key imaging parameters include:

AUDIO ACQUISITION AT DISTAL END

An optional microphone integrated at the probe distal end enables synchronized audio capture directly at the inspection site. The microphone supports audio pickup distances of up to approximately 7 m, allowing the recording of environmental sounds during inspection tasks such as confined-space search, security sweeps, or tactical reconnaissance. Audio is recorded together with video in MPEG-4 format.

DISPLAY, RECORDING, AND DATA MANAGEMENT

The documentation unit features a 7.0-inch LCD touch display with a resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels, supporting real-time live view, playback, and system configuration. Brightness, contrast, and zoom parameters can be adjusted directly through the integrated Endoscopic Imaging Operating System (EIOS).

Data handling capabilities include:

ENVIRONMENTAL AND MILITARY-GRADE COMPLIANCE

The Tactical IR Videoscope is qualified against multiple environmental and mechanical stress conditions in accordance with MIL-STD-810H, including vibration, shock, humidity, high and low temperature, low pressure (high altitude), sand, dust, and thermal cycling. These characteristics support deployment in tactical, military, and law-enforcement field environments.

ARTICULATED PROBE AND TIP CONTROL

The system is equipped with a 4-way articulated flexible probe providing 360° directional control via a tactile joystick or control lever. The articulation mechanism allows precise distal tip positioning with automatic locking to maintain inspection orientation. The probe supports a bending angle of approximately 100°, enabling navigation around obstructions, corners, and complex internal geometries.
